3. in the command screen type “msconfig.exe” without quotes
4. In the “system configuration utility , click either “service” or “startup” ta
5. Uncheck all programs that your are no longer using. Though you may disable all the startup items as windows always hides essential files for startup from a user.
6. Click “OK”
Increase Pagefile: – Other great tip is increasing your virtual memory to simulate more RAM. The Windows page file is a temporary section of memory that your computer uses to shift files around while it processes functions. Primarily, it s a buffer that your computer uses for wiggle room. If your Pagefile is very small, your operating system won t have adequate room to move and you could end up with poor performance and error messages.
Below are the steps how to increase pagefile size in your system.
Right-click on My Computer and go down to Properties
Click the Advanced ta
Click Settings under the Performance section
Click the Advanced button
Click Change under Virtual Memory
Disk cleanup should be performed periodically- Clean up your computer files by going to your start button, click on all programs, and click on accessories. Now locate the system tools, and after “disk clean up”. Clean on this, and you will clean up all the essential files that are consuming away at your computer speed.
